Meet Dr. Otero Nuria, Head of Spanish Language Programme at KNUST

Dr. Otero, Nuria holds a Ph.D in Psycholinguistics from the University of Alcalá (Spain), two Master´s degrees in Spanish Teaching as a Foreign Language and in Spanish Language and Literature for Secondary School and two Bachelor´s degrees in Journalism and Linguistics.

She has broad experience as a teacher of Foreign Languages in various educational institutions (universities, high school, NGOs, private companies and languages schools) in Spain and abroad. She is also an accredited DELE Examiner (the most important certification exams for Spanish language students) and examiner of institutions which wants to be accredited as official centers by the Instituto Cervantes. She has also worked in the Linguistic Service of CEAR (Spanish Commission for Refugee Assistance), where she carried out coordination tasks, and organizational management of its academic program, as well as development of Spanish teaching material for refugees and asylum seekers.

She has also dedicated herself to training Spanish teachers, as an online lecturer in the Spanish teaching Master's Degree at the University of Nebrija.

Currently, she is a Spanish Reader for the MAEC-AECID program in KNUST, where she promotes and teaches Spanish Language and Culture. So far, she has created the Spanish Language Club and is working hard to include Spanish as a minor programme at the Department of Language and Communication Sciences.
