Huge were the dreams, and even greater were the expectations. The class of 2025 came to the university as young aspiring students, but they graduate as refined, confident, sophisticated individuals ready to serve the world and Ghana with great professionalism.
The 59th Congregation Ceremonies for undergraduates was held from 18th November 2025 to 25th November 2025. The Department of Language and Communication Sciences had their graduation slated for 24th November 2025. The ceremony commenced at 9:00 a.m. with the convocation, students, families, and distinguished guests all in place to celebrate years of dedication and hard work. The ceremony was full of unforgettable moments, but paramount was the formal presentation of certificates, the traditional moving of the tassels from right to left, and the formal initiation of our graduates into the alumni fraternity.
The Department of Language and Communication Sciences produced a total of 269 graduates. Their performance reveals not only a high level of academic excellence but also the ability of the department to produce future-ready professionals: 81 received First Class Honours, 116 received Second Class (Upper Division), 60 received Second Class (Lower Division) and 12 received Pass. The graduating class comprised 133, 25, 51, and 60 students from B.A. Media and Communication Studies, B.A. Akan Language and Culture, B.A. French and Francophone Studies, and B.A. Linguistics respectively.
Excellent academic performance was also celebrated in the ceremony. Miss Vivian Ebambey was the Overall Best Student of the Department of Language and Communication Sciences and was awarded the Best Graduating Student in B.A. Linguistics, with an outstanding CWA of 82.12. Miss Jochebed Akyede Brago Sarfo, with a remarkable CWA of 81.57, was honoured as the Best Graduating Student in B.A. French and Francophone Studies. Miss Erica Dzaho was declared the Best Graduating Student in B.A. Media and Communication Studies with a CWA of 79.55 and Miss Grace Gyameah Boampong, also with a CWA of 78.14 was declared the Best Graduating student in B.A. Akan Language and Culture.
As the class of 2025 make their final bows and pay their courtesy, we are celebrating not only their achievements in the academic sphere but also the strength, innovation, resilience and will which get them this far. This is not just the end; this beautiful departure is a “graceful exit”, the start of new ways, new possibilities, and new chapters.
The Department of Language and Communication Sciences is proud of all the graduates and anticipates their tremendous contribution to their communities, careers, and the world.
Class of 2025, the future is yours.
